There are some flaws to this app. For one, all of the fun color show options went kaput in this version for the Pulse 2 whereas with the original pulse, there was a plethora of options to choose from. Please bring those back! The beauty of the original light shows was the multi color range it provided. The Pulse 2 has those colors built in but the programming opts not to utilize the full spectrum available. Thats a huge mistake. It makes for a less interesting but more expensive production. Secondly, Ive tried several times to turn the light show off when Im using the speakers. There isnt a function in the app that allows that. I find it inconvenient to have to take a picture of a black object in order to turn it off. An update could easily fix that. Third, there isnt a timer installed. Regardless of inactivity, the Pulse 2 just keeps going. A timer would at least give you the option to drift off to sleep with it on while saving the battery life. The previous edition turned itself off after it was inactive for 30 minutes. Lastly, there has to be a way to get the color of your snapped object to stay. Its great that it has color recognition, but once you switch modes or turn it off, your chosen selection disappears. The previous app allowed you to select a specific color and remembered it for you. It was more intuitive. The whole purpose of an upgrade is to experience an overall increase in quality, style, and enjoyment of the item. It reinforces your purchase decision and it should be a good feeling. This app challenges that by making it feel more like a downgrade. It gives you less. Less, in this case, is NOT more. This app needs a serious overhaul. Update ASAP!

This app would be so much better if I could change the color or pattern of the lights from my phone!

It lets you change the colors and confuse yourself. This app has nothing to do with music playing on your speaker. I find that when switching from Spotify to this app it stops playback.

Needs more light shows that go to the music

I have two JBL speakers and Ive tried everything but the app fails to "discover" the speakers even though they are connected and the phone is sitting on top of them or right next to them, really wish this would work please update and fix this bug!

App is not compatible with the charge 2 or 2+. Should a JBL Bluetooth speaker app not be compatible with all JBL speakers? Hopefully an oversight than can be corrected with an update.

The app is alright. There is definitely room for improvement! Not only on the amount of light show customization options available, but also for the app interface itself. The app feels a bit clunky, and the first time I used the app I couldnt seem to find the light options fast enough. The bottom button which is reserved for connecting other JBL speakers should definitely be switched to the left or right sides of the screen and a new and improved settings/options menu should take its place. Also, there should definitely be a manual color slider for light shows especially since the color sensor doesnt always seem to register the color being scanned and when it does, it doesnt always change the colors being displayed.

I have a pulse 2 and it sounds great. I was excited to get it because the original was really fun. So far the app is pretty disappointing. There are a limited number of "shows" and really they are all lame. If you are playing something fast the lights should respond to that. It would be great if the app would let you create shows or at least make the lights more interactive.

It doesnt even connect to my speakers and Im literally next to it. Im gonna return the speaker of this doesnt discover my flip 3 speaker...

I was super excited to get the app, I love the speaker and I couldnt wait to use whatever light effects the app had. Ive tried countless times to get it to work but even if my phone is playing music via Bluetooth and is right next to the speaker, it "wont discover" the speaker. Please fix or help?

The speaker is amazing. The app doesnt do the one fundamental thing it was designed to do.

We have been pairing two JBL Flip 3s via this app; both were purchased in December 2015. The first step was to update the software on both of them (one at a time) using this app and connecting the speaker to a power source. When paired with each other using this app it worked well enough (it even differentiated the speakers based on their actual color), though any kind of volume change would cause one speaker to cut in and out for 10 to 20 seconds until it "caught up." Im not sure if this is because the phone is connected to only one of the speakers and then that speaker is connected to the other speaker, or perhaps it could also be the phone is connected to both speakers at once and the bluetooth signal isnt quite strong enough. Either way, there is a lag time for any volume inputs that *would* be slightly annoying in a party setting. Once "caught up" though, it worked well. It seemed the max distance for the phone from the speakers was cut way down when paired with both. I would recommend having the phone somewhere between them. Worth a download, but will hopefully be updated to be even more seamless (if that lag is even fixable).

No issues works great. Paired 2 JBL extremes. Best sound ever.

Just downloaded the new update that says it has two new light shows however upon opening the app it doesnt show any new options. Please fix for a full review.

The speaker still needs to beak in.

Bring back the equalizer and add color theme that interacts with the music beat please just like the old pulse. No settings for light intensity The new light show after the update is no where to be found.

love app but the update says 2 new color shows and I dont see them anywhere, pls fix that.
